I've stealth mentioned a few times

What does it mean?
Does it refer to a hidden installation or they way an installation sounds

Stealth is all about having your sound system hidden away. By means of building fake floors to hide the amp,x over, capacitor. And or mounting speakers out of sight, stealth is a good way to win SQ comps as it has to (preferably) be done neatly.
I had a ford fiesta with the amp and x over mounted under the rear seat and a sub built into the boot. Sounded good. Looked stock.

I have done a stelth install in a 76 beetle of a customer of mine.

I mounted the radio behind the glove box lid in a custom panel - the glove box was sacrificed.
The speakers were mounted in the heater outlet panels underneath the rear seat between the heater outlets and the transmission tunnel.
The aerial was an electric telescopic unit that I mounted in the engine compartment in such a way that the mast of the aerial extended through the vent louveres below the rear window when the radio was on.

It sounded O.K. and when everything was switched off and closed, there was no indication of any audio in the car.

Now thats what its all about. Wickid idea for the aerial. Hmm a possibility for me now. Im not big on sacrificing the glove box tho. Its good to have to use, and then radio is fairly out of reach in there.

i wasnt to keen on sacraficing either, thats why i went the route i did. the existing place for the head unit is to narrow, and mutilating my cabbie
is a BIG no-no.

See there is no real mention of Sony Xplode speakers? Are they not good/good enough? i got myself some Xplode 6x9's and 16cm speakers yesterday and now i'm wondering? sounded nice to me when i coupled them up. I'm not running an amp or sub. just going to be these 4 speakers on my Xplode head unit. Dont need massive sound as i still need to hear my car when something goes wrong...

Sony xplod's are good speakers don't worry. I have small 5inch ones as additional back speakers and they are potent, the 6x9's should be much nicer, especially if your running them without an amp
