I was refering to the filters as being big, as for carbs I think I have had the biggest carb you can get in my hands before, a 51,5 IDA weber with ram tubes, that was going onto a Rotary, it was so big you could get lost inside it.

Looks nice, I take it that you're not running velocity stacks inside the airfilters, man they look flat. That's what's nice about the type II engine bay, my K&N filters are pretty high, just have to find someone someday who can get me a decent set of stacks made up.

Gawd, I hope I don't run into problems when doing my drla's over.....

R350 for a set. You can get them made by the exhaust boys... A few of them have a decent flaring machine that can flare the pipe to form a small trumpet.

uhuh, hence me saying I SAW.......plus the base plates of the volkspares filter/ linkage kit and the base of the 36DRLA's create a gap that's made by the stacks. I had 4 made up by a mate with a flaring machine that makes them sit flush......viva la noise boys....

sometimes its who you know, not what you know... noiseboys, yes, but dont try to get a custom exhaust made... they cringe at that idea.

There are dudes in Judith's Paal in JHB that make them will post the No. as soon as I find their card. I have made a couple of sets before using the chrome tips the exhaust dudes use to fit onto the ends of exhaust, only trick is finding the dia. close to what you need and then braze them onto the air cleaner base, have done this for Weber 36 DCD & 36 IDF's, I was looking at some the other day at Midas and the tips were like R65 each so you probably would be better off just getting the real thing.

Was checking out some magazines last night and came across a article featuring probably the biggest carbs around, Gene Berg special 58's they cost like $2400 = R16800 imagine that, you can get a few beetles for that kind of money.

HOLY CRAP, those are BIIIG I can only imagine the price, they say 51,5 IDA's were too small for their setup, imagine the kind of Hp these blokes are doing with air-cooled motors.
