Split Scream Update vids loaded
Hi Guys
I have been busy with my bus for almost a year now and everything is coming together now !!! The spray booth has been booked for the 25th of october and after that i can get her home and start assembly ...cant wait ! the bus still has a long way to go and should only run sometime next year (hopefully).
I have removed the reduction boxes and im running a "build" straight axel box with super diff and all the nice to have's the motor is a stroked 2.1 wbx with dry sump and turbo (waiting for the aircooled guys to start throwing stuff) and Kennedy clutch assembly and go-tech efi, Willie is busy with the front beam and rear hubs front porch 944 turbo and rear 911 to run the 15' Fuchs and discs front and rear she is oviosly getting lowered. As body mods go all the beading holes and emblem holes have been filled, jacking points cut off, over riders on the bumpers removed and filled, centre heater channel cut(to make space for the radiator, oil cooler and intercooler)front indicators filled ,and welded in plates at the rear to fit the 56-60 early tail lights she is getting a two tone matt black and primer grey paint job with some oldschool pin stripeing and lettering will post pics as soon as we get her out of the booth(if it happens had to promise 3 cases of beer for my friend to let me use his booth on a saturday !! ha ha) so here are some pics of her after i stripped her on the way to take her to the panel shop for the body mods and rust repair.
So now the real work starts i guess

* Karma wonders if that is a bike trailer

This bus is going to look seriously hot when all the mods are done.
Please keep those pictures coming! Good luck for the 25th!
ps. Some info on the 944 front beam mods please?

Re: Split Scream !
Thanx Guys/blitz 4 uploading
Yes it was a verry good shell had one hole on the floor size of your hand and had to replace the sill at the bottom of the side door and some minor rust behind the front bumper(havnt ever seen a split that doesnt have rust there) some hinge problems and that was that ohh and after i took out the hood lining i had to make/weld a new channel at the rear inside everything else was perfect i guess thats one plus point doing a fleetline compared to a german bus the fleetlines are "new" and pretty solid.Yes karma thats a bike trailer
but trust me its not as easy as loading a beetle shell
.I did not use a 944 beam just used the hubs they also run a cup and cone front wheel bearing and had to cut the inside of the housing on the lathe "open" by just under a mm to use a std fleetline front wheel bearing. i will post pics as we progress thanks for all the encouragement !
