Cool - the thread is warm again.

Finding NOS parts is nice, but it is more often than not the kind of parts that didn't sell originally (and no-one needs!)

when you drive over a bump and the car steers because of it.... :mrgreen:

Seriously tho, because the steering rod is longer and runs a different route to the suspension, if the tire moves up and down (lets say full down to full up), then the position of the steering arm changes in relation to the center of the rim and this turns the effected front wheel fractionally.... bump steer

Bump steer can be very scary if you hit a rock in the dark at speed, causing the entire car to swerve suddenly and violently to the other side of the road :shock:

The better power-steering systems seen in modern times do not suffer from bump steer - it is important for us all to bring up our kids properly and encourage them to drive ACVW so that they can remember and enjoy bump steer as much as I have :TIC:
