I think that it's a vw parati..
The gol was a hatch,iirc..

PS saw a lot of VW badged Toyota Hilux's in Corfu the last 7 days... strange

It is a colaboration between VW and Toyota to see if a DC VW is a feasable.
I was under the impression it was still in the testing phase.

The VW Parati was sold in the US as a VW Fox. 2 and 4 Door sedan and a 2 door wagon
The engin lay out was north - south like in the Audi's and not east - west like in the Golf/Jetta's
Saw one at a show with a aircooled engin in the place of the waterpumper.

The one in my pic is a recent project.So if it failed at first,they are trying it again.
