This car is parked outside my front door almost every day.... the more I look at it, the better it looks.
Kinda like beer goggles in a pub...

I don't think you get an ugly Porsche. To me they all look super sexy.

I was looking for a targa project for a while as I liked the open top motoring idea.

However a 911SC popped up it's head.............the cheapest targa that I could find was about R150 000.

Tony,
These damn cars grow on you the more you look at them.

It was my dream to own a 911, before I go to the ultimate scrapyard in the sky , and it could be any model as long as it s a 911.
But then a car similar to this one crossed my path and after wheeling and dealing for some 4 months I lost it --lost my patience waitng for papers to be sorted out--- Im now so pissed off that I also walked away from a (almost ) barn find 911 coupe --117000km 1980 2nd owner true lady driver owner---
and now im realy, realy pissed off with myself .

Just want to show you this one before Igo and sit in the corner again

I also like the (air cooled) 911 very, very much but the prices they go for are ridiculous! R 150 K usually only gets you a battered example, with a lot of TLC needed. Guess it is a good investment in the end, but if you finally have your dream car, would you sell?

The deals are out there though, we bought a rough 911 SC for R50 000. Engine needs complete rebuild and sunroof needs to be sorted. My dream car is hopefully what I can swap it for.

Yup...........myself and a mate.......didn't have 50 large to go into it alone.

He has the contacts in the US for parts as they bring in stuff all the time for his vintage racer, very handy.

I hope its not the red one that I missed out on because I cursed that car and its new owner for not getting it. so sorry mate ha ha ha.
I think there are good buys out there, old but good and the original build quality was very good so the cars grow old relative cheap.
My favourites are the SC range 78-85 --maybe to 89-- non turbos.

Nope it's a white one.......1983 sunroof no whale tail and fuchs, mildy tatty but solid.

The guys came down from R80 000 as people didn't want to touch the motor locally for under R50 000.
