New VW Tiguan

I find it increasingly difficult to keep up these days with the new cars, so you must understand my amazement this morning when I opened the Sunday paper to find a full colour 2-page ad of the new Tiguan. Can vaguely remember a spy pic of the new 'baby-Touareg' in some magazine a few months ago, but forgot about it. Old news to Wikipedia, though (see quote). So expect these pavement cruisers to appear on the roads with some female members of the majority race of our country, who can't drive at all, wearing oversized sunglasses and oversized earrings, behind the wheel, soon... :?
Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV built by the German automaker Volkswagen, based on the A platform of the Golf. Production started in the winter of 2007 in Wolfsburg, Germany, sales started shortly after.

The Volkswagen Tiguan was announced at the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show held in November 2006 as a concept vehicle. [1]

The production Tiguan was released at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.

They are all over the roads here already. Is the 1.4 the Super/Turbochager combo setup?

I'll never buy a new VW again, the cars may be nice, but dealer back-up in this country suck donkey spunk.

Totally agree with flatfourfan. USED to be a huge VW supporter, but after MANY, MANY costly mistakes by various dealers I just had to give up on VWSA. I dont care how nice the Tiguan looks, and the fact that I read there is an entry level 1.4 Tiguan going for R247K, I also will not ever buy a modern VW in our country again.

Aircooled VW's are a different matter altogether though!

I used to race Honda's,best engines ever build. But I never ever had any shit with my VW's,and always have had great service from VW dealers.I suppose it varies from person to person, and from dealer to dealer.
