Engine stand - Beetle

Post by No More Landy »

Hi Guys

Can anyone recommend an engine stand that will work on a beetle engine without having to be modified.

Last few overhauls I was younger and more flexible and did it on a beer crate, but I'm getting soft and would like to do it easier.

Hello,

today also in Germany only universal stand are available:
https://raanas-shop.de/WERKZEUGE/Motors ... :7760.html
or some brackets to build your own stand or fix it at a workbench:
https://www.csp-shop.de/werkzeug/motor- ... -staender/
It looks like the market for it has shrunk...

Decades ago I get my one (rollable/rotatable/demountable) from CSP and used it for my type 1 and 4 engine restorations:

Try Adendorff's,.. uncomplicated stand. will require a mod or get a unusable Gearbox and cut the bellhousing off and fit to stand,....that's what I did. Works fine,..me thinks.

I have a couple gearbox case donors available in Hilton, KZN, if you're looking...

Hp is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."

Do you have a perhaps have a picture of your engine stand ?

So far I stripped everything on my beer crate again, but assembly would be nice on an engine stand.

I cut off the bellhousing of an old gearbox and fixed it to some scrap frame that I modified a bit:
