If you going to use adapters to get a set of 17" to fit, the rear is going to ge a problem ar the tyre will rub

I'm gonna need to get adaptors yes.
What if I get 20mm thick alluminium adaptors and go with a 7.5J rim and 195/ 55/ 17 tyre?

Its not easy to find out what works or what will not work, best is if you can loan a tyre and rim, and test it, you will find a lot of info then to work out the correct tyre and rim that you want with the look you want.
The correct 17ince rim needs to be 6 J for a 195 / 55 tyre. Use this chart....
https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/char ... size-chart
OR
you can buy and fit, sell and buy and fit, and sell, and buy and fit, and sell........
I got 8.125 J x 15 rims, was told it was 7J, because the sales man could not read , or was trying to get rid of redundant stock.
Anyway, they work with 205 /70 tyres at the back, but need to reduce the rim to 6.5 J to fit the 195 /70 front tyres with 20 mm spacer.
Good Luck
