Id plate
Hi, I am looking to buy a buggy as a project. The guy that did the change from Beetle to buggy never took the plate off the original body (I assume) because the plate is missing. The car has papers but the original motor is also not there. Is there anywhere I can go to get a new plate printed/pressed? I'm in Joburg.

Re: Id plate
Except for Beetles built between 1973 and 1976, all Beetles have the VIN stamped on the tunnel just in front of the inspection plate under the rear seat. If the VIN is stamped there you don't need an ID plate.
If the car has no VIN, you can have a new one issued by the police, but I don't know what process you'll have to go through.
