Great work Sean !!

Are these older heat exchangers hard to come by ?

Some more parts added to the engine, but not yet completed.

Looking nice.

Donovan asked about heat exchangers.
Actually these engines did not have heat exchangers. Hot air from below the heads/cylinders got diverted to inside the vehicle when needed.

Do you still use the sigma prime epoxy primer ?

And now the fun part begins

Headlights, front bumper, badge and Safaris fitted

NOS fuel level sending unit sourced and installed

Restored fuel tank and fitted correct felt pads for straps

Original aluminium VW cap polished from a rusty item to look like new

Fuel tank installed

This was a lucky find, both guages were missing from this bus, but I found a set only 2 months older than this bus. I stripped and polished them and re-assembled.

This is just a start of some of the pics, I'll try some more tomorrow.

Sean - how do you manage to turn out work better than some restoration shops, in such a short timeframe?

Amazing work.

Amazing work.
1. Hard work. I work every single night and every Saturday and Sunday possible if I'm not travelling.
2. Corona virus lockdown. I never had so much time before to work on projects. I had to close business for the whole of April, so spent that time catching up at work and working on projects. I didn't spend one day at home during the lockdown, I worked on this bus every single day.
