Good more to all.

I need help to verify a VIN number.
I want to buy the beetle but the VIN looks self stamped or something.
Can any help me to back my suspicion?

And if so, what can be done?
Its a 1600S Curved window beetle. I think a 1975 year

Kind regards

Thats a SAPS re stamped number.

That means the car was recovered or rebuilt and the SA police issued a new number to get it onto the e-natis system.

As long as the papers have the same numbers all will be fine.

You can have the lic Dept confirm this if you want

Keep in mind that a restamped VIN pretty much strips a car of any collector value.

No worries if you just want to enjoy your classic.

Will post some project photos when I start with it.
