Thanks for your pictures of the engine.
Saw something unusual the other day on the highway...
A large truck-trailer with adjustable wheelbase. Hydraulically operated system that can slide the rear part, complete with axles, closer or further by a few meters.
So it can adjust to container size, or shorten trailer when no load is carried.

Maybe consider doing something like that with your YouFusco?

Thanks guys, yes you right Dawie, ... that would be a way out to get the best of both worlds.....

But let the truth be told, the idea for a Beetle transporter was a great idea, and was a pleasure building it.

The empty MeFusco drives OK, but is a PIG in traffic,

can not be parked, can not go into my garage, and distance between axles is so great that you need two lanes to turn.

Also with the Beetle on top, you have the sway in the suspension and tyres that takes away from the driving experience.

As I have always been a "Toppie in a Hurry" this does nothing for me.

The engine, and gearbox as well as bigger wheel have made her to be driven fast, and this is not what you want to do with the current MeFusco.

Yes its sad that an engineer can work out to build a new toy, but forget to work out the drive ability of this toy.

BUT !!!

With all this said, we will be able to turn her into a very nice UTE  Yes a Bakkie.

This New MeFusco will be easy to drive, easy to park, do 120 plus on the highway, and be shear pleasure to drive.

And the most important of all is I can get her into one of my Garages.

And with a tow hitch, she can still tow the other cars so to save a driver.

Have had the joy of seeing it do what it was designed for but now we want something to drive, and faassstt...

Getting very excited to get her into the workshop and do the transformation.
