Re: My new early bay Deluxe's
The 68 has also been given some attention.
Outside was just a simple polish/wax. It was also missing its passenger side front bumper deluxe trim. A 1970 trim was there, but its a different style. I was very lucky to find a correct trim piece from a 68/69 model bus.
It received a new set of tyres and it sailed through roadworthy. It still has its original VW shock absorbers, suspension components. Not bad for a 50 year old bus.
It too also received a set of these lovely molded old style number plates.
The front mat was unfortunately missing and a home made rubber one had been made. I ordered a new mat and that covering over the front wheel arches and its transformed it inside back to its original former glory.

Re: My new early bay Deluxe's
And the final update with the Tan 71 deluxe.
It too received a good substantial clean and polish. It also needed a new set of tyres like the rest, but its suspension was somewhat wobbly. I had to replace the ball joints, tie rods, drag links, centre pin, shocks, the lot. It was actually quite finished, but its as good as new again.

Yes, it’s called Tan in the VW book and it was only offered in 1971.Terry Phillips wrote: ↑Sat Oct 20, 2018 7:48 pm Nice and clean.Very unusual colour is there a name of the colour Sean.
