Can anyone give me advice on the harness routing on the Westy. I have all sorted but hit a snag at the front. Holes are too small and cable tabs are sort off in the wring position to sensible routing.

Unfortunately couldn't work on it the past few days, but am looking forward to continuing....

There is progress, but the further I progress the more I find out I'm missing original parts.
Mainly screws and Bolts. I hate aftermarket selftappers so am looking to get something more original.
My sliding door is in as well as its rubber. Works good, but I think it need fine adjustment as I feel the force to pull the handle up and engage the final lock is a bit too much. Could be the rubber that is still new and probably beefier than the original.
I have also finished the electrical wiring. What a job. I bought a complete new harness from Heritage when it was on special. I never opened the pack until now when I was ready to fit it , and man was I disappointed. Some colors don't match, wires have no lugs on the ends, they are too short, missing wires the list goes on. I did take it up with Heritage but that was fruitless to say the least. Anyway, I had wiring diagrams and eventually got everything working.
The hooter was a bugger, but only because I did not tighten the steering wheel up properly due to the threads needing attention. Had me testing and retesting circuits until I ruled out everything except the steering wheel. Fixed the thread and tightened all up and Bob's your uncle.
So now the cab is virtually complete except seatbelts and the Accelerator pedal.
Oh, while I am on the topic in interior, how doe the rubber mats under the seats get fitted? I thought they would be clamped on the edge and folded over back in position, but that does not seem to work, or I must get a bigger hammer.

So now I am starting on the rear hatch door, fitting sound deadening and then insulation before fitting a newly made plywood cover and fitting the glass with a new rubber.

Unfortunately no pictures. I only made a video of the lights working.

I'm planning a long trip in February next year and am hoping the Westy will be don and at least tested for a couple of thousand km's.

A month has gone again without update, but I have been busy.
Progress is good and my engine is in for a proper rebuild. Getting new heads, Pistons& cylinder,bearings...
So now I am starting to look seriously at the parts that I still require. I'm hoping to have the bus running by the end of the year and so far it looks doable. All the electrics are done as are all the door rubbers and brakes. Busy revamping all the interior wood which has delaminated but is fixable.

They are about 10-12mm wide and about 800mm long and about 1-2mm thick.

Can anyone tell me where they must go. I can't for the life of me remember where I took them off.

They look like the strips that hold the upholstery in place just above the driver and passenger doors.

You will need to paint them coulor match to your roof liner.

Hmm, thanks Herman, but my roof liner is plywood. Remember this is a Westfalia.
Only upholstery I have is the seats and the door cards.

But I do appreciate your thought.

So I found another part I'm not sure where it fits.
It's made from the plywood same as the furniture but a long strip by about 50mm wide. If anyone knows where this should go I would be happy.

In the mean time I have slogged on and the Bus is nearing completion.
Seeing pictures is all people are interested in here goes. As can be seen I still nedd a few items, but hopefully I will get them soon.

I had a look in my Westfalia last night, but I don't see this strip anywhere. Did you find where it goes?

Also could not find this strip of wood you refer to.

Yes, I found out where the wooden strip goes bu looking at it carefully I could identify scuff marks. It actually is a spacer at the bottom of the inner wooden wall panel. I was wondering why mine was not so nice and straight without it. I only found it later and it is not in situ.

The other two brass strips I still have no idea.

Today I finished the new wooden bench and cupboard to replace the stock coolerbox and sink as I will be using a compressor fridge.
Now I need to fit some cable for charging the aux battery that will be next to the fridge.

It sounds like its a slide surface for something, maybe bed, or roof floor, drawers,....

So while working on the Westy roof I finally found where the two strips go. They are like one long washer for the load bars. So now I have accounted for them as well and so far no unknown parts in by bag.
