Hey Guys,

So I stumbled upon a Beach Buggy while working on a site. Spoke to the owner and managed to scoop it up for next to nothing as it was on the way to be scrapped anyway.

I hooked it up, brought it home and now this is wh
Ee the journey begins.

I will post photos a bit later Of what the initial state of the buggy is.

I will be keeping you updated every step of the way untill restored and driving again.

Nick

As mentioned, the buggy is in a bad way, talking about rust.

In these pics you will see the what I thought was the main areas of concern, however.......

So this morning, my 2 daughters and I decided that the warm weather seems just right for us to continue the disassembly of the buggy. Armed with a toolbox and a plan, we set out to get to the point where we could split the body and the pan.

The pan turned out to be rusted through.
The wiring harness is shot.
There is more rust that fiberglass in this thing...

This sounds like the making of an epic re-build....

Below, a few photos....

Your rite pine, it does, however it has a longer back with a "boot" if you wanna call it that. It houses the soft top while the hard top is one :D , and I was lucky enough to get both with the buggy.

I also got the A-frame with it, which is a real bargain.

All the pipework is now being re-done and the pan is to be replaced.

If you guys hear of anything in a good condition, i will be most grateful.

I want to make this a one of a kind. The Paint and everything else I will do myself, so its a real challenge. Its going to be a long process, however I'm up for the challenge.

Hey guys, Quick Update....

2 weeks ago we decided it was time to sand and prime the old body. Sanded out all the problematic areas, ensured to have the areas prepped well and well Primed her with the standard Grey primer.

All goes to plan, I should be able to paint the body this weekend.

For those of you who are wondering why I did nothing last weekend, well, my wife was in hospital delivering our son, so apologies for no updates, I would not have been forgiven :-)

I will pot pics of the movement, hopefully after this weekend - as soon as I have figured out how to do so from the IPhone.

Have a good one guys.
