928-powered Golf 2

Post by Pine »

I saw this car in '95 at the Air Force Base Valhalla, Pretoria (although these are not my pics). It was a dark red or burgundy Golf 2 with a Porsche 928 engine, gearbox, drivetrain and interior. Does anyone know what happened to this car, and are there any more pics of it?

I think that might be the golf that caught me at a traffic light in Roodepoort around 95
I was in my souped Golf 2 and this guy played with me! :o
Next traffic light he pulled a burn out with the back wheels!
That’s when I suspected some witchcraft!

Same colour car, had Porsche seats inside :hangloose:

I have also seen that car , note the G60 Golf Rally body so it had to be an import into SA at one stage . VW factory imported allot of these cars , I have also seen a mk2 with a 2.8 12v Vr6 motor fitted by the factory here in SA , these were the days when VR6's were not available yet in SA . I'm not saying this car is/was a factory conversion :)
My biggest fear is that my wife sells my cars for what i told her they cost !!
