Re: VEE DUB CLUBS
The biggest Problem is the INNDEMNITIES
When you are a club chairman or part of the Comitee and something serious happen on a run and the Partisapant has not signed a indem then your balls is actually on the line
The BMW club has such a senario and the members are getting sued
So be care full When I used to run the get togethers It was done on a social club level and tag along on own risk
But it is then Also Better to Join" SAM------" and register the club All paid up members will then be coverd by them
and you get different type of Events
Get to gethers
Motorsport related
Show and Shine
Even Last year when I stoped traffic for the Beetle club to have Right off way and some guy came flying past me and ride into a club member I would have been in BIG SHIT
So no more of those things
I used to get permission also from the different traffic departments and gave them the route that was going to be taken
And they would have had one or 2 men just on the look out for us
etc
Hope that gives you a better Picture
It is not as easy as it all seems but it is rewarding when you do it out of love for the ACVW

Re: VEE DUB CLUBS
Yea, shot IMPI,
I guess we cant keep South Africans happy all the time. Pity it cant be like in the UK. Man those guys go for broke and they live and let live and make it work....for the sake of Aircooled Lifestyle...
I attended a Rouadhouse run few weeks ago with Lyel and the guys from North Gate for a milk shake, and although they advertised the date extensively there were only 4 cars.... that sucks man....Some people are easy to rant and rave and complain, but when their support is needed then they like ghosts.....
Pine, at least i washed my Rat look bug befor the run and polished those GTi wheels....lol
Yea, will try and organise something with the people who are keen....
Happy driving guys!!!!
