Re: Formula 1 engine break-in
Just as a matter of interest, all motors should be broken in with a 2500 rpm no load break-in run for 30 min. to ensure a good long life and well seated parts.
This test should not be interrupted during this run.
This is a firm standing with older Petrol heads.

Re: Formula 1 engine break-in
Jip, i do know that part retrovan, and is like Tony Z says, it is nerve wrecking because of some things that don't feels right but that is the way it needs to be done. We did this sort of things on racing motors for rally cars years ago "when my dad was still building racing cars for toyata Sa", were cars weer loaded on the dyno and kept there for a while that the motor is run in properly. Just scary and super sick to see how they rev that v8 F1 motor.retrovan wrote:Just as a matter of interest, all motors should be broken in with a 2500 rpm no load break-in run for 30 min. to ensure a good long life and well seated parts.
