My August '57 bug

Greetings all,
After more than a month of tinkering, I now am ready to slap up some pics of my rather splendid August '57 Beetle. No, it isn't an Oval, but the first of the "baby" rear windows of it's time. The Speedo is marked "08 57" as well as the ashtray itself, it's casing and multiple other parts of the car too. I have had more than enough people in-the-know verify the car as a '57.
HUGE gratitude to our dear Bill Noble for all of his many hours of input and assistance with this car. I have been on the receiving end of a plethora of period correct parts and gifts from him. Bill, you ROCK!
Also on the thank-you list is Eric Van Staveren whom I bought some truly outstanding items from for the car like an original SG ignition switch and Huff key, correct indicator stalk (aftermarket one had been fitted), original cardboard inner dash cover in spotless condition, a lovely '50's bud vase (yet to be fitted) and... wait for it.... a magnificent mid-to-late '50's Hazet Tourist tool kit!
I've also found an August '57 owners manual in English that is on its way via the post.
The car came with a Bekowa roof rack with all it's original clamps and rubbers, VW mud flaps and venetian rear window blind. It didn't have a fuel reserve valve, brake fluid reservoir cap or correct German running boards; all of which have been sourced and fitted (thanks Rui!)
Take a look at some pics I snapped today...
