Aircooled VW South Africa

Morning all,

My VW Beetle 1975 was stolen at Alberton Mall at around 09:00 of the morning of 2013/12/17.

It is a very distinct 2 colour - Black with a a type of silver on the sides and 16" VW Mags on it.

the car registration is RMN 017 GP.....please phone me if anyone see this car: Gert, 071-680-7877

That is one nice Beetle,there are some sick people out there,actually quite sickening when you think of it.

Are there local traffic type facebook, twitter, BB, whatsapp, "pigspotters" etc , etc groups that can spread the word for you. These networks worked flippen well when a local split bus was stolen and recovered in the Western Cape a few years ago. Can anyone on the forum help with this / further suggestions ?

I have already posted on FB as well, reportacrime and our work have a lot of drivers in Johannesburg and I have offered them a R 5000 reward.

UNFORTUNATELY, PEOPLE ARE REAL SAVAGES SOMETIMES.
WE RECENTLY HAD A WHOLE LOT OF OLD VW STUFF STOLEN FROM OUR PROPERTY. THE WORST PART IS THAT I HAVE A SNEAKING SUSPISION THAT IT'S SOMEONE WE KNOW AS YOU CAN'T SEE THE STUFF FROM OUTSIDE AND THEY WERE VERY SELECTIVE WITH WHAT THEY TOOK; EVEN REMOVING A BRAND NEW OIL PUMP STILL IN THE BOX, FROM THE CRATE CONTAINING 9, YES YOU READ RIGHT; 9 SOLEX CARBS, 2 STAINLESS EXHAUSTS AND A COUPLE OF OTHER ITEMS.

ANYWAY, OUR SYMPATHIES AND I HOPE YOU GET IT BACK IN THE SAME CONDITION.

Unfortunately not. I see one can buy now a lot of spares on places like OLX etc. It is a pity however that the chances are very slim to ever see the VW again. I have spent a lot of time and effort to fix every single thing on the VW, and it would have gone now in Jan for the last part, the full body restoration.

In any case, thank you all for replying and all the help I have received so far.
