Hi everybody,

Some of you will know Daisy, some not. I bought Daisy from Fig in April to add to my collection.

She is a 1967 Split Screen Double Cab. She has had a hard working life, but surprisingly is still very original. She is on her second motor, and still has a reduction box.

She was fiber glassed and painted before Fig got her, in a horrendous blue colour. Everything was painted. Head liner, interior, speedo....
Her Original colour is white as per her data tag. Yes, she still has that.

First thing I did was to remove the fiber glass. There were giant worm holes under there (tin worm). Fortunately most of the damage was in the quarter panels. Also the load bed and floor. Daisy has to have some cosmetic surgery. Fig did tell me about all this, so the shock was minimal.

Next was the wheels. She had 3 15'' split wheels and 2 beetle wheels. Fig organised the remaining 2 15'' split wheels so we are in business. She is currently sitting on a set of Rosstyles from my '77 that is getting new Empi's

The plan is to get the split wheels blasted and repainted and back on Daisy.

She will go in for surgery soon to sort out her body work, and to get a new paint job....

BTW her name is Daisy, but I added a Van in front, cos, she is a van, but if you say Van Daisy fast, it sounds like Fantasy...

I'm sure you want pics, so here are a few...

Hi Guys,

I photoshoped a gorgeous Samba to be a doka. This is the kind of direction I am going with Daisy. But keep in mind the Samba that the photoshopping is based on is exquisite. So Daisy won't necessarily turn out this way. This is only a guide, so don't hold me to it.....

Also, my photoshop skills are poor at best, so keep that in mind too. They aren't supposed to be perfect. I did them so that I could get a picture of what was in my mind.It was more about the colour combo than anything else. But she will have red wheels!!

So a picture paints a thousand words... here are a couple of pics...
