My new T2A

Post by yohbie »

Hi guys! I'm all new, here goes. Last week I went to go have a look at a T2B advertised on Gumtree to restore. Needless to say the vehicle looked a lot better on the photos than in real life. While talking to the gentleman about the Kombi I mentioned that I would actually like a low light T2A. He asked me to follow him around his house and he showed me this:

I am now the proud owner of a this T2A, complete with papers and licenses up to date. :D Cant wait to fix her up! That nasty radiator nose has got to go as soon as possible...

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

Congrats on your Bus bud!!

Would have loved a low light but we test driving and hopefully collecting our first bus (late bay) before the end of the week so maybe in the future we can get together or meet as i stay in Centurion.

Eager to see more pics!!

We picked up my bus yesterday :D We gave her a quick clean out. Biggest repairs to be done is on the left front door and then minor rust under window seals. Other that that its hard to believe that this car is 43 years old! :hangloose:

The original interior will be cleaned, fixed and left as is.

Hi Barend. Congrats on your new bus and now that she's finally home! Did you drive her or tow her home? Interior looks soo super neat inside, does not even look like she's ever had a radio in even.

Thanks so much guys. The bus was taken away by trailer. The car stood unused for four years so we did not want to take a chance with the tires and brakes

Yes, not worth the risk. What motor does it have in and does it start?

It's got a 2.5L GM Chevrolet engine, have not even bothered to start it. The previous owner said it was problematic. I'm going to fit a VW 2.0L 8V engine.
