I am restoring a 1979 Samba crewbus and will install another motor.

The ones available in Namibia is the following
2 Litre, 8 valve 2E motor
2 Litre electronic ignition APK motor
1.4 Litre electronic ignition BBY motor

I know that the 2E motor have been fitted successfully, have anybody fitted one of the APK or BBY motors?

What is the selling prices of these motors in SA?

Any advise will be welcome.

Regards

What ever you do stay away from the BBY as if the throttle strikes out it alone can cost R5K from the Agents

The 2E is perfect but need to check clearance under the load bin

I can supply you with adapterplate and Xross member that work on the microbus but nees shortening for the baywindow busses

can mail me at
