Re: My 63 Ghia
Thanx guys
Here is my story
My brother-in-law,actor Hakeem Kae Kazim, had a white convertible beetle,he traded it in for the ghia(he always wanted one) back in 1999-2000, Ghia had lots of servicing done to it(brakes, wiring, new 1600 sub assembly, interior, sprayjob).I always liked the car,but only realised recently how great this car is (the compliments, attention it brings haha). Anyway,my sister and bro-in-law moved to Los Angeles at the end of 2005,leaving the ghia in our garage. It only came out in march this year(after bro came down and sorted out the licence that was 6 years behind), once that was sorted out we slowly started working on the car to get it on the road. Starter was replaced(seized),Carb was replaced, wheels got an upgrade(from ugly 14inch Rostyles and super thick tyres to 15inch stock steelies with hubcaps and trim rings, whitewalls were added too.
This car has its ups and downs but I love it too much to give up on it(has driven me crazy with frustration at times). Motor was pulled 2 Sundays ago (had a burnt valve/valves) and Pistons, rings, cylinders, heads, rear main seal, etc was replaced, block was untouched (no problems there). Happy to say that she is now sorted and on the road.Still lots of work ahead, will keep you guys posted

Re: My 63 Ghia
Thanx so much guys...sadly after we left that Sunset cruise I lost my left grill somewhere on the freeway and only realised 2 days later cause I dont drive it everyday, been trying to source it locally but no luck, really dont wanna import cause of Import tax and shipping charges but what choice do I have.
