It's a new part going into the system but a "Vintage part" when it comes out.
They should add a devaluation formula to the customs duty due

Still waiting for the parts, they must be good for the customs guys to enjoy them so long.....

Spent the day doing the wiring, and getting the dash into the car.

More wires then I need... Think the PO has added some more, just to confuse.

Have the lights, indicators, hooter, and some of the dash working, will have to spend more time with it.

Would love to strip the Reduction boxes, and back Brakes, but this will be a bad thing seeing the front is still not done.

Land up with too many parts in boxes, and too many parts on the waiting list.

Can only mean :bn:

Any body have info on these Reduction boxes with the Knuckle drive shafts, must the box be striped to get to the drive shaft seal.???????? A drawing would be nice :D Please...

Thanks for the drawings, was not sure if I could replace drive shaft seal without stripping the whole RGB, but looks like that has too happen.
HR also kindly sent me a pic which seam to confirm, a full strip and replace....

The Left is leaking you see,....
Just one more for the "Job Board"

Thanks Guys, much appreciated..

Good point, there, but in my case, the PO had decided that it would be more fun for me if he removed the dash wires himself, and added some more loose ones just to make it more interesting.

But I do not mind, as I then know the wires are correct, and will not super heat the cab, one day on a lonely road between Pit-sonder-water, and Gat-sonder-ent.

Also, I have found that all the spade lugs are super brittle, and have creaked off one side.
So this would have been a mayor problem in the future.

Have also added a clock to my Dash, and needed wiring it in.

For those still wondering about my dash, well it has a 1970 Bay fuel gauge cluster, an 1976 Barzilia speedo, and a type 3 clock.
I just love it, just as mixed up as the bus......

Just busy with small things waiting for customs to stop playing with MY toys.

Found the Master Cylinder has lost pressure,

Striped it again, and found the seal was not quit right.

As all things on this bus, its all mixed up.

The MC is marked 22 mm on the body, but would you believe it if I tell you that the 22mm MC is 23.8 mm inside.
So I hunted down an 23.8 mm cup seal, and it was a perfect fit.

Have placed an order for more 23.8 mm cup seals for my 22 mm MC, so that I would have spares long into the future......

Will show pic's of toys when they arrive.
Till then.

So now we will complete the front axle with all its Mechanical goodies back to 100% as the day it come off the line in 1976 in Brazil.

The Pressure re leave oil pump cover for my new 30 mm oil pump, so all is ready for the type 4 engine.

Yes, its still going into this here ride, WITHOUT upright fan........

And now those of you that are squeamish, should stop reading now, ..........

Am busy with the Steering wheel conversion for the bus, have turned the boss and will be fitting it to the fully padded, contoured OPEL wheel, and yes, I will be fitting a VW badge to it.

So maybe we will have more photo's for you after this week and, should the rain hold off for once.

So the steering wheel is done, and looks good to me anyway.

Have completed the Link Pins and the king pins or king knuckles as they are called on the split.

Have done the parts today for the right side, but still needs assembly.

Will put a "How too" on this thread for the new guys should they want to read about it when I am done tomorrow evening.

Photo's will be placed the same time.

Have a good one...

No Sir, "The Uncle is cooking !", is incorrect, His is "Smoking......"

But now come to think of it, a lekker Pork Knuckle Potjie would be nice........

Well managed to fit both sides, before the sun went down, and still got a good swim in.

Here are the proof of my labours......

And the Engine lid hinges that where fully rusted and the pins broken in them have cleaned up nicely, and refitted with new pins....

You need glasses Sir,...
This one has two indicator pilot lights, the original one I took out had one, and the tanks gauge is different......
And I have a clock.....
The only original gauge I put back was the speedo, because I likes this one better.
Post me your dash here please......Lets see who needs glasses......
