In my defense, i was a very young chap when this picture was taken. I could not tell the difference then, or now..

Where in Alberton is that?
I've lived in Alberton for the last 31 years and don't recognize the buildings in the pic.

That is the corner of Fore and Voortrekker street. There is a 'Tea room' on that corner in this picture. Later it became Barclays bank. A red telephone cubicle was on the corner too, slightly obscured in the pic. Opposite the red car is or was the Newmarket Hotel, I don't know if that is still there.

Aah, no wonder I don't recognize it, that building looks a whole lot diffirent today, it's currently the home of FNB and the grass on the opposite side of the road is now a shopping centre - Alberton City.. I think that tap is still there, it's got a metal box over it that's locked.

wow, also grew up in that part of the world and didnt recognise it at all... scary how much its changed
