3. Had a spitronics but was never happy with it. I also say to this day that is why I lost the motor. We know it ran lean and I'm still convinced it was the management system. Found a second hand microtech which set me back R6500 very decent for that price! A new one will set you back about R13000 I last checked.

That is not n bad price. At the end of the day you now it will run right and you now what you got. The Wolf 3D is a nice system to. It's got an onboard screen that shows all the info and you can do live changes on it. Friend of mine runs Apexi commander system on his Rd3 rx7. Same story. Just the backup support on Wolf 3D in SA isn't so big. Then Haltech systems is nice to.

5. According to Bugger the main shaft (1st and 2nd gear) is about R18000 and the side shafts are about R9000. So yeah I would say a PRICY exercise!! I know once I do those I won't have a problem that's why I'm looking at doing it now. As for the shorter shafts I'm not to clued up about it. Bugger will make a judgement call on that one.

Jip!!!! that 's what sort of things cost, but at the end of the day you now you can put the power down. Bugger will do the right stuff there. We founded that short one work better for us because we were running a 285 M/T tyre and the dish was inside, so we ended up with shorter shafts and shorter axle tubes.

Got the call yesterday from AJ racing. My motor is finally complete! A few extra pieces here and there!

Spoke to bugger yesterday and asked him to go ahead with the gear box. He will be building me a stage 4 box now with Chromoly main and side shafts.

Hopefully the bug will be running in the next few weeks.

Haha thanks Tony it's an expensive club to join!!

I read your angrrrrr thread again very interesting read. I really take my hat off to you for the amount of hard work you put into your ride. What specs went into your gearbox?

Thanks
Similar box to yours, just cost me a whole lot less since I brought the parts in myself in my luggage.
Erco Main shaft with 3.1 first gear and 2.0 second gear, Chro-moly
Chro-moly 1.26 third and 0.88 4th with special Diehl Synchro Rings on all gear hubs.
Both slider hubs in Chro-moly
3.88 diff
2 HD side covers with 2x machined steel brace plates.
Superdiff with extra pair of spider gears
chro-mo HD axles
Rhino HD transmission case
Lower gbox through bolt and braces for added support

And then the usual extras - nosecone mount, camber compensator, Kaefer cup brace, bellhousing strap...

Very interesting. I want to strap the box and do a kaefer cup brace also. Will have to wait.

dont wait - do it now, you will still be able to break the box without them, with them, it makes it a fair bit harder to break. You dont want the box to move when you put your foot on the gas

Time to bring this thread to life again.....
So it's been a few years but we have gotten to where I more or less want to be.

Running a Holly low pressure pump from primary fuel tank to surge tank. From surge tank twin bosch efi fuel pumps feeding the injectors. This was a big thing for me as there was a breakdown at high rpms due to lack of fuel. Could have caused another motor rebuild.

Car is also now back to a modified single plate clutch setup.

The car has been standing for a few years now due to work location and car location. 800km apart difficult to drive.

Will be relocating back to the Pretoria area so will now have more time to play...

Car was tuned and on the dyno again with Arthur from AJ racing and made 198kw and 333nm on 0.6bar. Still low boost for a rotary.

Car has plenty still to come.

Hopefully it will make more appearances in and around Gauteng.
