Hi All,
Led lights and control unit.
I hate it when someone fit aftermarket indicators on old vehicles that didn’t come with indicators. I manufacture led lights for a living so I developed a control unit for the rear lights that will work the stop, tail and indicator lights from the same led’s using one live and one earth wires. Everything will work from red only led’s same as the older American vehicles with the split switch system. We will have to convert your standard old lamps to led based lamps.

I would be interested in this in the near future. I was also thinking of using the bullet style motocycle indicators by fixing them to the bumbers.

Put some fotos up that we can see how they look. i did my own style on my 1976 T1 that looks like the CSP brand.

i have these in stock it fits right into u'r existing light like the normal bulb


but u need a resistor on the flikker side otherwise , the flikkers flash a bit fast

I'm a HUGE fan of LED lights, very reliable, very little current draw for decent lighting, and they last SOOOOO much longer than incandescent bulbs.
Used to manufacture LED lighting in a variety of shapes/sizes/applications while working for a company in Pinetown.
Had a lot of fun playing around with LEDs, even built myself a 'light bar' to use on vehicles being towed on an A-Frame, plugged straight into normal tow-hitch plug.
I used a length of 40x40 trunking for the 'bar'. Had Brake, Park, indicator, and reverse lights!!
I'm pretty sure I can still get hold of the PC boards if anyone is interested in a 'light' project (excuse the pun!)

Hi,

I replaced my rear light cluster on my 69 with two LED lights and the one acts as the stop and taillight and the other does the job of the indicator. I installed 680ohm resistors onto both live wires and also a dedicated LED flasher unit that I bought at a motorcycle shop.

My front indicators are also now of the LED type and they rock!!

I have a problem getting the picture on. We make many different led lights you can go and have a look at our site http://www.celgo.co.za I don’t have the auto lights on yet. Will see what I can do this coming week getting the rest of our lights on.
The light control unit is 70x70mm it has a 4-pin plug for input wires stop, tail, indicator L and indicator R and a loose earth wire. It has a 3-pin plug for output wires one wire to left lamp one wire to right lamp and one wire for earth. You need one red led lamp for tail stop and indicator. If you want to use these led globes make sure it doesn’t have a load resistor in it.

Maybe this is a stupid question but can LED lights work on 6 Volt cars?

LED can work right down 1.5 volt, just have to put the correct resistors in series.

That's why we Trailer guys like using them, as you do not have to change globes from car to truck customer.

Marcel, what is the price for the set-up? I see that the new trailer set-up is 1 cluster, however they use 2 led colours on a clear glass - amber + red.

For vintage cars that came without indicators you can use the led globes that Slak is selling in your existing lights. You then use our control unit (R150.00) that’s working of one wire for everything. (Stop tail and indicator) You don’t need amber for indicators all early American vehicles was red only rear lights. If you are looking for truck type lights we make a truck light that’s a combination stop tail and indicator lamp, you can have it with the standard 4 wire connections or with our two-wire control unit. We have a nice smaller version but it is not SABS approved.
