Ola all,
I'll be in EL later this month for training.
Having never been there, I'm curious as to what's on offer...?
I now VW-rules is a local. Anyone else?
I've been given until tomorrow lunchtime to seal the fate of my flight dates, which currently limit me to the week.
This is probably a very daft question, but is any sort of decent bus service there? I'm not sure what the transport plans are for myself, or where I'll be staying yet.
Thanks, N.

I was there quite a few years ago. The aquarium is okay, and there is a really cool restaurant that hangs over the water which is right next to the aquarium vibe.
That is pretty much it I think.

I would have loved to have gone to see the VW museum in PE, but it's further than I thought and I transportation is an issue.
It's also still too cold to venture to the beach for anything other than a walk.

fully dude.
Just know that the town is very easy to figure out. I had a rent a car and i got myself lost and ended up knowing the whole place in a day.
That should indicate the amount of stuff there is to do there.
pity about not being able to go to the museum though
next time...

Haha. One horse town, eh?
Should hopefully know where I'm staying soon.
Yep, the museum'll have to wait. I enjoy my own in the meantime.
PS: I'll pass on the Type 4s. I'm tired of seeing my own - them engines need to gooooo already.

i lived there for many years and still go there once a month on business.
the town exists because of Mercedes Benz....
it has become a bit like Buterworth in the Transkei in the last 10 years if you catch the drift...so avoid staying near the CBD.
what type of business are you going for ?
you need to stay in the suburbs....beacon bay, bonza bay, nahoon....and you need transport..distances are spread out a bit.
pm me if you want some no's for B&B's or guesthouses...they will be cheaper than JHB rates.
not much nightlife...if you don't drink then learn quick

...not much else to do..
maybe i can hook you up with somewhere to stay.

Thanks for the tips.
Everything seems a bit covert at the moment. I have little to no information other than than when I'm going. Unfortunately that's the norm.
The co' is organizing everything. Hopefully they'll be kind enough to give me the use of a rental car for the days that I'm there.
I don't drink.
Put simply and broadly, I'm involved with VDP (variable data printing) programming. If you've heard the buzzword 'TransPromo', go with that.
I'm joining some customers down there for a grilling on some ridiculously complex software. My brain WILL be frazzled by Friday.

It is not in PE , it is in Uitenhage , 20km closer
