Goodluck with the resto.
Strange that the whole kombi is stripped but the front badge is still on it, thats usually one of the first things to go.

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

i dont know if i must tell you about the future of this van it is after all the Aircooled vw web, but here it goes. the body will stay 100% original on the outside and in the cab, for the undercarrage this is where the manure hits the fan. Unlike my H 100 Hyundai with a v8 lexus in it the kombi is getting a new handbuild chassis with an A arm front suspention and independent rear axle, and yes this is what makes it different and will most probably be the only one of its kind. The motor, gearbox will be from a toyota supra 2JZ 3.0 twin turbo fitted in the close centre with a 3.7 ratio bmw limit slip rear suspention. So basically only the body will be standard with a complete new chassis bolted underneth and yes it can be done. We just completed a lada niva that used to be 4x4 and replaced all parts under the body. it is also running a 2JZ 3.0 supre twin turbo, we just completed the exhaust and propshaft. Completeing interior. it is a 2x4 now, will post some picks later

When I saw the pictures of the floor gone I thought you got lots of patience and time but the space chassis will be much cheaper and mor fun :hangloose:

Nice
The wheels and arches are nicely matched
The lada already looks fast standing still

The suspension you are going to use on your Project is it locally drawn or is it one of the imported plans ?
