This photograph dates from the late 50s or early 60s. Note the [edit]Parys[/edit] registration plates.
The coolest thing is the Karmann Ghia is still around and in its original paint!

Sambas in South Africa are good for only 2 things: showing off and sunburn.

The Ghia is in South Africa
owned by a family member of the original owner. It briefly attended the Kaapse Kombi Kult kamp-out two years ago.

Very cool pic!
Wonder what colour the Beetle was - looks almost metallic?

Since the Beetle's LHD it's an import, which means it could have been one of several optional metallic colours, and it certainly looks like metallic paint in the pic.

Cool pic - just a correction on the registration.
TV was for Vereeniging and OV was for Parys if I am not mistaken.
