At Ronnies Sex Shop, Route 62, Steve and Buddy (beach buggy)

On route from Oudshoorn back to Klapmuts on the R62, I stopped for a break. I saw the buggy and it's trailer and a tent under the tree in the car park, I met the owner Steve on the stoep, and I must say I was quite astounded to hear of his journey[s] around the continent. I did'nt have time to chat for long, but http://www.buddyandme.co.za should explain it all. I hope he keeps us informed of his travels, I'm sure we can help him out here and there if/when he is in our part of SA. He has some interesting stories to tell .........................








Steve is on a personal mission, researching and searching for a solution to the rape and sexual abuse of children and he receives no personal or financial gain at all from support and contributions received. The NGO's benefitting are listed on his web page.



As I was leaving, Tony wandered in desperately wanting a mug of coffee (I met him for the first time the previous night at a caravan park in George)

Steve is well known to the beach buggy club. We saw them off from parliament, oh.. in 2006? I saw him in Melkbos P&P in early December. Anyway, good to see he's still driving the buggy, he's still on his mission, which is defo worthwhile, and the Chrome-dome is still shiny... (coffee?!? WTF?!?) And Ronnie's sex shop is still going strong. Last time I was there, Gill and I were also in the buggy.

Was surprised to see you there. I suspect you didnt do the R62 all the way home (or your bus is a lot faster than it looks).

Steve was talking about maybe making the KKK campout this weekend but he would need to think about it - and the George show next year is a must he says.
He was also talking about a group of Porsche 911s (3 I think) which are planning to drive from Stuttgardt to Cape Town next year which he plans to join, hopefully with the buggy.
He talks about driving to Cairo like I talk about driving to JHB, just a hop skip and a jump and you are there... amazing to be doing what he is.

Did see a sweet black 50's Beetle though, I wonder if that is his, a young couple were driving it.
