Yes, that means 1975.DR WATSON wrote:Hi there Fig, the third number on the vin is 5. So does this mean its a '75 model? Papers read 01/01/1976
The registration docs seldom have the year model correct, and there's always a disclaimer that it's year of first liability for registration, not year model. I've also seen many cars where the listed year was before the car was built.
According to Commercial Vehicle Data Digest, Fleetlines were built from 1/75 to 3/76, when they were replaced by the baysplit hybrid. However, I have yet to see a Fleetline that is not a 75. The only Brazilian VINs I've seen with 76 model year were all Baysplits.
For interest's sake, what are the last 6 digits of the VIN? It seems about 5,000 Fleetlines were made, but the highest VIN sequence I've seen was in the mid 3,000s.

Re: 76 FLEETLINE KOMBI
That would make it Fleetline number 2368, about half way through the production run. Unlikely it was built close to 1976.DR WATSON wrote:Last six digits of vin are 002368
