TopTV

Post by boxerulez »

okie,

anyone on here got TopTV???

What areas and what packages/bouquets?

How are yous finding TopTV, would you recommend?

I am planning to go for the Variety and Entertainment+Knowledge packages, comes in @ R159.00 p/m, once off of R299 for top box and dish.

Please advise as I want to either get a Dstv Compact or a TopTV package installed this weekend.

I have dstv compact in my guest house room, Its terrible. in 8 months i think i only watched tv like 3 times (besides world cup matches). there is no discovery, no BBC knowledge, no History, no Animax(now thats gone anyway). I wont recommend Compact to any one.
From fastest to slowest:

Birkin race car, not much is standard
Lotus Elise 111R, almost everything is standard
'75 SP 1600 with a few mods
B8 A4 Avant tdi, towing made easy

Compact is Better than TopTv as far as some of the reviews I've heard.

I don't watch sports and I don't have kids that watch cartoons.

Kicking DSTV into touch and replacing it with TopTV is the best saving I've made all year.

I specially don't miss the continuous adds and the “this is what we going to show you, now we showing you what we told you we'd show you, this is what we've shown you” repeat, repeat, repeat of DSTV. You can stop watching DSTV for six months and then still see repeats when you start watching again. Followed by more freaking adds. :jerkoff:

I do miss Top Gear but not R100.00 per episode miss.

I also find that the dish supplied and installed with the decoder is rather flimsy and losses the signal when the wind really blows.

Chris ,

Is this dish you are referring to the Elsat or the TopTV dish ( The flimsy one )

Does anyone know who has got the TopTV decoder on special this week??? I saw it at game a while back for 229, I was hoping this is still on...

Also can you remember which installer you used?

I bought the 'special' which TopTv were running a couple of months back. R289.00 = Decoder, TopTV dish and installation . Bought it from House & Home in Hemingways.

A chap called Arthur installed it 0736209884. Really efficient and friendly, I'd recommend him.

I have Top Tv. I would recommend it. I took the full package, with teenagers in the house etc, I had to..
The movies are not that great, 3 channels worth but not always my taste. Snakes on a plane, Yuck

Got 3 or 4 discovery channels, MGM plays some good oldies, the kids have it on music vids when I get home, or Fox. Fox retro is cool, Miami vice, Magnum PI.

Quite a few car shows. One I like is a bit like pimp my ride, but instead of turning the car into a rolling piece of bling and cr@p, they refurbish the cars to better than OG. like the one episode they found a clapped out Ford Torino, no 22 of the Starskey and Hutch model. 1000 made I think.

The dish is fitted on the wind free side of the house, so, no lost signal...

LMAO there's no such thing as a wind free side in East London.

I got it, Installed same day, after hours by Electronic Repair, guy's name is Ron.

Activated same evening, quite pleased.

Love the old ep's of XFiles.

Can't agree more. My dish broke off it's bracket yesterday. Waiting for the installer to bring a replacement right now.
