Both worth saving - at the right price. If anybody gets prices and doesn't want them then please advertise it here.

PS. You can love more than one VW type at a time (Its all good with us.... )
Camping is cheaper than therapy.

"Wanna sell it" "Yeah, but there's a national shortage on 'for sale' signs."

Spoke with the owner, he reckons the (yellow bay) bus belongs to his friend / belonged to an ex friend, who left it there for
repairs or storage ? Appears to have no interest in it. Garage owner would like it to go, the engine (2l) is siezed, bus appears to be rusted (but complete). The papers are going to be an issue as the licence is not up to date (few years now), not sure if the dudes are still friends, etc, etc. The garage owner does'nt want to sell parts off it.

Having said that, I told him I would like to buy the roof rack. He will think about it. So mg12werr, you who started this whole affair!!!!!, do you have space in your yard for a roof rack :D ? I'm flippen far away from Grahamstown, I would have to make a transport plan if I can buy it. Thanks for the lead !

Thanks man ! If you happen to go passed there again while they're open, if you could have a real good look at the roof rack
for me ..... :D
Would really appreciate it.
The dude won't mind, quite a friendly sounding character, his name is Riekus (or Rieka?). Thanks :hangloose:

Okay I got on my bike and went to the other side of town to go check this thing out and speak to the guy. He said that the papers have been removed off the system due to the car standing for so long or something along those lines. The motor has been removed and is in the back of the car. The panels in the car all look like they are in extremely good condition. There is bad rust at the back outer panels but had a look and the rest of the car is in good nick. The combi has no dents. The paint still looks like the paint from the factory and no fiber glass or chicken mesh. The gearbox is still there and it has its original rims. Okay the very sad thing about the car is the roof rack. 50% of all the mounting brackets are rusted away and the others are really rusted but might still be fixable with allot of work!!! He said that he wont sell the car off part my part but wants a decent price for the whole thing. Now before I tell you the price  Is it possible to get papers for the car? Can I say that its a build from scratch or some thing like that?

Here are the pictures I said I would take:

 F*#k !!! Thats really sad, you can see the bus was pretty well looked after most of it's life until the last twit got hold of it.
I think with the paper work issue, there will be a "mission" ahead. But if I lived down your way and the price was right, I would be tempted to take it on. Interior looks good and complete, still has the parcel trays, roofrack can be saved (never saw mountings rust like that before). Rust wise, it looks like the roof and gutters need major surgery.
Maybe investigate a bit more regarding the papers.
