The thing that worries me is the supesion geometry it self which is a science in its self, the linkage for the gears,and the rear hubs,bearing housings,brakes ect. But i hope this things clears most of those things out...another things are we going to be able to find al the parts they suggest in using,im scared one cant get it or its cost to much so its not even worth it but maybe then boer maak n plan will kick in...anyway im thinking subby box which is 4,5k at engine den...and then maybe somehow using subby wheel assembly tied to the double wishbone suspension...i have i even thought one can buy one of those import cars a subby wrx cost 16k and then put it on a trailer and then gut it for as much donor spares one can get...suspension everything...

I think if you have enough sence to build a frame from a set of plans, modifying it here and there to accept whichever parts you want to put in, wont be an issue.

Not familiar with that box but for some $$$ a beetle box can be made to handle 300Hp My The fly made 220Kw on the wheels and are getting a stronger motor now

I would also use a Audi box if I mount the motor Longitudinally as they can also take good punishment.You can use the tiptronic or manual cable shift boxes

The suspension geometry should be supplied with the plans, if not we all got some reading to do
At a R100 between all of us it is still a bargain to get these plans even if only a 1/4 of the plans are used
I`m still in

Ja thats what i hope...but ive heard its not just about welding some steel pipes together...but we'll see...what motor you planning for the eagle?a v8 would suite that body shape it just looks like its suposed to have a v8...

Its a renault box aparently...Imy bet is still the subby box would be good...but kind waiting to see how black speedsters 550 Turns out...but its like you said a 100 odd rand each just to steer us in the right direction is worth it...

I think i will at first concentrate on the frame and suspension. the motor possibilities are endless. did some reading and seems like audi and renault trannys is the way to go.

The power plant and tranny is the least of the problems guy's, the suspension is the thing and should be safe, righteously one should be able to fit any suspension suitable and make it fit, after all it's a build from scratch, so you should be able to source any existing suspension provided it's fittable, I'm not saying it's an easy build but with some innovation ans some RRR's of course it's doable. one should get some info from the guy's that build and race cars on a track, it would be a good way to start. I agree, a pointer in the right direction especially having all the geometrics laid out for you in a plan is a good start, what you do around that is what get's a little complicated, but hey, we're vw lover's and should be able to do just about anything with those plans :wink:

Ok so who is going to order the plans

When we order we need to specify the dimensions must be in mm Important other wise it will be a even worse struggle

So if you have a whole cad plan with shit load dimensions on it all 3.25inches or 1.75 inches then you have to multiply all those everytime...but ja kani seer maak om hulle te vra ni...if it is inches then the builds just got one night longer....

No, you print out the plan, calculate all of it once, and write it on the plan. That way, you're done in a half hour...
