Hi Folks,
I bought a 1979 2l automatic for a parts car. I already sold the gearbox. The engine is for sale as is. It was running when I bought the bus. I'm open to offers. See attached picture.
The only missing part is the flywheel. It was sold with the gearbox as it had a torque converter.

Is the air-filter housing in the above picture, of the type intended for territories with especially dusty environmental conditions?
I would envisage, that air filters intended for especially dusty environmental conditions, would comprise some form of inertial pre-cleaner, such as a cyclone, followed by either an oil-bath air cleaner or paper-element filter. Of what form is the above filtration system?
Is it of the same type, as illustrated below, which I am told was fitted to an Australian specification, 1979 VW 2000 Type 2 Kombi?
Markings on the air-filter element:
VW-Audi Part No. 029 129 620 MHO Germany
MANN 45 159 54 104
Wartung nach Bedienungsanleitung
Patrone austauschen, wenn Patrone oder Dichtung beschÃĪdigt

Is there any form of pre-cleaner and how readily can you obtain the replacement, pleated-paper filter elements and at what cost?
