1956 (?) piano transporter panelvan

Post by jolas »

The music shop W. Heuer in Stellenbosch celebrated their 50th birthday. The photo (apologies for poor quality) was
taken in 1959 when their panelvan reached 50 000 miles. Looks like a 1956 bus, and yes, there are 2 pianos visible
inside ! The picture is hanging in a frame in the back hall of the music shop, now run by the son. Asked what happened
to his father's panel van, he replied he had no idea :(

Yes, it's a Kombi.

Cool pic, thanks Paul. Do they have any other pics of this bus?

Glory ! Well spotted Splitz, I've been studying that pic for ages and never took notice of the windows............ I guess I assumed they would use a panel van for
"deliveries".
Howzit Christian, I'll go and quizz the dude again for more pics, it was a Saturday morning and he was more interested in selling pianos.
Cheers
