Some years ago I met a dude at VS JHB that had a bug with a import narrowed & lowered beam on his bug, he was pissed cause it cost him a shit load of $$$$ and a 3 point turn was now more like a 8 point turn.

No idea on the beam width, it was running custom shox, the tyres rubbed on the inner fender well and inner rim on the beam, the wheels were stock smoothies.

My 58" is running a 6" narrowed beam with discs and 6j 16inch Fuchs no rubbing was verry suprised with the turning circle , not as bad as I thought but still it does have a influence.

71 beetle I had, that Thomas now owns, running a lowered stock width beam with disks on 17" x 7J TSW VX1 wheels has a terrible turning circle and the tyres as well as the rim touch.
Just turning into or out of a parking bay was a mission.
It does look as if the beam is narrowed as the 205 tyres fit well within the fenders.
Eugene has the same issues with the same setup on the beam, but running 15" teledials.

A little off the topic.
I got a quote from Supreme Bumpers (JHB) to chrome my Fleetline bumpers. it works out to about R4000.
Has anyone used them before.....are they good and is this a fair price?

Cant comment on the supplier have not used them, 2k a bumper sounds like allot of moola ! But what do i know ...i do know chrome has become verry verry expensive but i would shop around sum.
