My New Aircooled...1969 Semi Auto...

Post by zubz »

Here is the new addition to the family...

1969 Semi Auto...in very good condition.

Check the factory fitted radio.. :) and is in MPH....but yeah...

Just 1 downer though, my cousin lost the key, still checking...any locksmiths on the forum? I dont trust just anybody so would prefer if somebody here could assist....

We managed to start it yesterday though, had some hardcore car enthusiasts when I went to tow it so we managed to start, was not getting gear but thanks to DSHUX who says I must check the solenoid and wires on the gearlever....

I will take clearer and better pics soon, she needs to be ready for the June meet at SAMINT.... :hangloose:

Similar to like a tiptronic or DSG as they call it nowadays...

No clutch but you need to change the gears manually.......hope it makes sense...I am also new to this... :?

Nice score. :D I had a buddy in the early 90's who had a LHD Auto, after a prang he sold it to another dude who used the mechancals for a trike.

Yip, the original DSG, all these new cars can go sleep...this is the big daddy of DSG and Tipronic etc....just without the massive power the new cars have.....

Thanks All...

@ Blitz, yeah the color is what made me like this car so much....How do I check the color code?

Managed to get it started even though it has been standing for 3 years, ofcourse used a new battery...However I need the keys or to get a key and also check the automatic changer solenoid....gets gears but does not move so apparently the solenoid and its contacts must be cleaned....

Hope I can get her to move or else....

I have a genuine VW Workshop manual for that transmission and related stuff. If you need any specific info, I could scan & email it to you.

That would be very nice, thanks. Where you located, maybe we could make some copies and I could get it binded to a book.....
