VW POLO help

Post by bugspray »

Sup guys, my lady friends 06 polony is beeping the "check oil" warning on the dash, I checked the oil myself and at a garage, both under running temps and cold. The level is fine.

my question therfore, whats up with the check oil warning? Im not very clued up with the car, does the oil warning also apply to brake fluid and power steering fluids? or could it be something else?

thanks guys.

Take it to a dealer or reasonable facsimile thereof and ask them to connect a computer and use VAGCOM to check the error codes...

Yeah. Gonna get to a Vagcom soon as I can, best part is I have full acess to a KTS (bosch diagnostic) down in durbs for free, now may prob.be charged by a stealership to clear the fault code.

Dont think the problem wil go away by just clearing the dtc's ,Sounds to me that it might be a wire or sender unit, cant remember now if those had a oil level sensor in the sump...maybe just check anyways.

I say that there is no problem with the car, it just has sympathy with the oil spill in the USA!!!

Is there a little spanner showing on the LHD of the display as well?

It is crying for a service.

When was it serviced last? 15,000km ago?

Once it it serviced, the dealership is supposed to reset the warning.

You had it serviced 1,800km earlier than last time.

Take it back.

Take it back to the guys who did the service for a reset. Ours did the same thing when the guys were to lazy/busy to do it during the service
