Also had a 1.9wbx in my bug. It went like the clappers. Like Beetlebuddies said, it's a lot of fun on a budget. I reckon a 2.1 with FI will be even nicer. :hangloose:


The only substitute for cubic inches are more cubic inches.

Friend of mine is busy with a 2.1. Only problem is you have to cut a bit to get the fuel rails in and out once the motor is fitted, and also to be able to fit the motor.

The low buget w/c is the 1800 golf motor with carburettor you can do the converion completely for under R12000

I currently drive a wc A15 motor what a pleasure, nothing better than standing next to some guy in his fancy car and the nisswagen just pulls out from under them, im going to try post some pics on my nissan 1500 conversion link now, The adaptor plate i manufactured myself out of billet plate 6082 aluminium, solid and stronger than the cast alu ones you get out there, I got all the NC programs for it just need to mod the pitching a bit, oh and dont go wc if you arent going to do the brakes too wich in the same breath meens putting on diffirent wheels Im running a set of TSR RIVAZZA mags with 205x40 rubber on wheighing +- 9Kg's each you can go through my post and hopefully youll get an idea of what ive done, Oh my water piping i did myself with Alu pipe.
