Post by benjamin »

So i've also finally figured out this upload thingymajiggy...
Gona try n upload more as it takes a while to upload high rez pics, would've added it under the 'offered section' but i havent been
granted access yet.
Anyway fancy a bit a car porn? This shud sort u rite out, hahaha :flash:
Itsa late 1958 thats recieved a bumper to bumper treatment and hit quite hard with the resto-cal stick!
..bside the obvious it features dics up front, original (unrestored) seats and panels, a 5inch narrowed and slammed front beam and a 2275cc aircooled motor complete with 44 downies and stinger exhaust. :jerkoff:

ok, so i realised that the final pics rarely do justice to the project so here are a few more that tell
you more bout the blood, sweet and tears (some of joy others not, lol)

This was phase1, had to "humble" it by bringing it down to earth just a little and then later just a little more..
Image

Despite it seeming asif its in asome condition it needed some work in a few minor areas such as the bootlid, the rear valance
and the driverside corner post.

The first panelbeater messed us round for 6months and we paid him 3k for this, thanx, but dragged it away in time for him not to have made a completed cockup of everything..luckily.

This is a pic of us carting alles away to panelbeater "B"
Image

as u can see he was ALOT more organised..
Image

Oh but b4 that it got the good old RAT-treatment that was round bout 2006 when not many people knew much bout the look, needless
to say i got my fair share of skeef kyke :finger4u:

Amongst the shiny bits n bobs we bought 4 the car, the 1s we couldnt buy we sent off for an acid bath and an electro-plate!
This was the treatment for EACH n EVERY bolt, nut, washer, spring, clip and and basically anything we cud fit in the load! :hangloose:

Then it came time for 1 of my fave parts, fitment of the goodies we had waiting for it!

These were the fuchs as we got them, not cool, so we had them detailed to spec
Image

And here r pics of the work, post-primer phase..
Image
Image

Then finaly it was off to get a good few licks of spies-hecker base coat and 4coats of clear,
followed by having a brand new empi wiring loom fitted and general assembly, i have to say that this was both
the most exciting and most frustrating part, but sO worth it.

...some more accessorising!

Had many fun and exciting outings with phenomenalbugz and the guys, nuthing beats going out in ur new baby
joined by so many other like-minded aircooled nutters! smiles all the way, cudnt have done it without the support and enthusiasm!
