Tony try other oil GL 5
Not sure if we opted for new Syncros or not will check
Either Or have not had issues like this with the Deihl Syncros
But who knows they could also now come from China

The other upgrade was the C clip groove machined and fitted to shaft above 4th gear

You guys must Remember no matter what gets done to the Transmissions it is still a Consumable all though all Care and Effort is put in to them

The Box flex A lot with Lots of Torq
I broke my Cabrios box in 3 de gear accelerating the box flexed and crown wheel and Pinnion Stripped
Due to me putting lots of power through my own Transmissions and Breaking them
I learn and see first hand what happen

@Bugger
Definitely new synchros.
Will try synth oil for a little longer and then try GL5.
After that, I'll have to make a call.
I'm hoping to not have to go through the effort again as I have other projects that I want to get to. Getting the box out is one thing, putting it back is another which I am really hoping to avoid.

Time for a small update on Angrrr

The gearbox - well it seems to be working well, but since my last post I havent driven it much, and when I did it was only short trips to smoke some rubber. That said, I have grated it a few times again.
I tried a few more jetting combos and then stopped with the jetting. The bigger venturies have definitely helped remove the flat spot, but I seem to think the car is a bit lazy now. Well, lazy in comparison to Angrrr. Fixing this is a project for another time. Some of you know my plans/progress, but its not finished yet, so please dont let out my secret.

Since I will be needing an upholsterer at some point for my 1302, I decided that after 22 years of owning Angrrr, its about time to get the rear seats done to match the front. The tatty old seat covers were really showing their age and the red leather underneath didnt really match the car...
The result was OK. Its not the greatest job in history but its not bad. And once he uses better materials for the 1302 I think it'll come out quite nicely.
Also, we tried to match my Recaros, but our material options didnt come as close as I'd have liked. That said, it doesnt jump out at you and you wont really notice through the window.
And again, this isnt a show car...

Who cares if the everso "slightly" off,...all the other "features" make up for it,.......has anybody ever sat there or will ?

Except on occasion, A fourlegged child ?? 🐕,.....with an attitude matching the car of course !!!!😇

Over the last 10 days or so I have been making up the brackets to mount the seats to the beetle. Being that Recaro supplies a generic mounting system using 5mm steel and M8 bolts (which doesnt fit the beetle), I made mounts to bolt up to this system

@TonyZ
Did you retain the stock seatrails on the pan or were they removed and the new brackets bolted through the floor?

I kept them.
These were bolted through the floor but I didn’t touch the stock rails.

Its been quite a while since I've done an update.
And this isnt going to be an update either, I'll get to a proper update soon.

For now though, here is a preview to an incomplete project that I just dont seem to get the time to complete.
