Welding in JHB?

Post by Merlin »

's up?

Are any of you doing any welding anytime soon?

One of the air filter mounting bolts on my carbs sheared off. They're Imperial.

I replaced it with a new Metric bolt, and now want to do the same to the other carb'.

Unfortunately the MoFo at the factory looks to have screwed up with the drilling when he mounted the other side, so he ended up welding the bolt on.

I need to remove the bolt from it's mount and weld on a new one, as the mounting hole is too large.

I can't imagine it taking more than a minute or two to fix, but I don't have the necessary tools or know-how to sort it out.

If you're planning on doing some welding soon, and wouldn't mind helping me out I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks, Nic

Go to your nearest exhaust shop, give the guy with the welder a 2liter Coke, and show him what you want to be done

On a w'end? Probably a Sunday too...

I had considered it, and will find one if I don't come right elsewhere. :)

Thanks for the tip.
