The naked chef's Samba

Post by jmvv »

Did anybody else see the Top Gear insert on DSTV with Jamie Oliver in the back of his Samba trying :?: to make a salad while being driven around their test track by The Stig?

I thought that a 3.2 liter Porche motor in that bus made for some real fast food.

If someone can perhaps post the clip :?:

I saw it. I think he is MAD to mess all that salad in the back of that nice bus :P I don't think he owns the bus anymore, apparently it wasn't very reliable either

Glad to see I am not the only one who watched that. Should be fun with a Porsche 3.2 in the back!

Sorry to disapoint you but.....
That actual bus was one of my wedding cars, the bus was built by a guy called Matt Keene back in '94/'95.
It never had a 3.2 Porsche motor in it at any point! The engine was in fact a 2.4 type 4, similar set up as mine.
It did however sell for ridiculous money!?!?!?!

I took this pic of it at the SSVC AGM Wolvey '95

On top gear extra they definately said it had a porsche motor, but I don't really know I just remember thats what I heard. You are one lucky man to have that as a wedding car

That clip of Stig taking the bus around the track is from series 7 or 8 I think. Still funny, how to get salad on your face at 100 km\h

Jamie took that bus on a trip around Europe and it broke down in Italy I think, maybe elsewhere too.

Nice looking bus.... but that is just stupid money to pay, or maybe the celebrity added the value??? :?

Thanks for the video. Now either Jamie doesn't know what engine his bus had in or someone found out how to get 3.6l out of a Type 4 engine...
