Any idea what time they did?
Staying Aircooled is so much nicer.

I did not see the beetle do a clear run. It seemed very new. The buggy had a twin carb setup. The driver was learning the ropes, I think he ran a 16 odd second time, but it wasnt that fast. Looks very nice though.

Shaun must've been saving the Beetle, it is much quicker than that.

13 Seconds is quick, might seem slow when you see them race though :-)
But for a turbo charged Beetle prepared for racing,, :? I would have investigated why 13 secs,, must reach at least 11secs or low12's, maybe just a bad day,, you get them as well

I remebered when 16 secs was good for a mk1 escort with a V6,, ran with John Deer Tractor pistons in it .. u can laugh but that was top noth technology then 8) Now it is Chevy pistons with BMW 328 conrods, stroker motor (4.1l) , and they do 11's easy... Sorry got carried away, this is not the ford site,, but you have to start somewhere, just as well start with that

Johanb

Take a trip to see Dave Rowley at his workshop in Killarney Gardens, to see what turbo's he's got on his drag buggy.

Dont know them at all. The beetle was from Flat Four Racing. The runs I saw it was not running well, which probably accounted for the times. There will be drags and gymkana at Killarney on the 19th. They will probably be there again. Ron & Gill seem to know the owner.

There is an article on it on the Killarney web site. There it has to do with the length of track. Also they had a fatality at the end of last year.
