Dual Carb Manifolds?

I got these with my buggy, and have been wondering what they are exactly (there are two of them). My guess is that they are manifolds for dual carbs, since the one end is carb shaped (same as the flange on my stock carb) and the other is dual port shaped. The thing that makes me doubtful though, is I cant see any way that the carbs could sit on top of these without running into clearance problems on the engine.

Any ideas?

I think that these are dual manifolds for a Bus engine, running Solexes. They are quite short, so I think that they would be able to be used in Type 3s too. I cant confirm, because my Fasty's dual carbs are sitting on single inlets? I will try and remember to check it later today at the parts on the shelf in my workshop...

Hi Faux, if I am not mistaken, they are manifolds for Solex 32/34's off a variant. They are slightly different from the ones found on the SP engines as they are shorter to cater for the flatter T3 engines...

I checked and I was right. My Fasty's dual carbs are sitting on short single port intake manifolds. So I am sticking to my first post

Hmmm, interesting stuff, thanks :) All this makes me wonder why they came with my buggy (I got an old destroyed beetle motor with it, so I always assumed they had been on it).

Dont suppose they are much use to me now though, cos I dont think they'd fit on the motor I'm running.

Are they worth anything to anyone?

Not as sought after as the longer SP manifolds, T3's are common and do fit the T1 motor, problem is clearing the shroud with airfilters on, but it can be overcome.
