Are they reinforced? I would have thought of they were only silicone they might collapse under high vacuum.

The silicone tubing is strong enough not to collapse under vacuum conditions. I do not like the look though...

You do have a very high standard going when I look at the wiring :) All the best.

Boost control solenoid. Also ECU controlled

Yip, makes fault finding easier.

Wired up the switches and relays last night. Only dash / logger and front lights left. Maybe I can start her up tomorrow night.

Got her fired up on Saturday!!! Only to find the rear main seal was pissing oil. So we "quickly" took the engine out, fixed the seal and put it back in again. Saturday evening around 7pm it fired up again and the oil leaks are gone.

I did not get to take any photos or videos. Will take some tonight.

The engine sounds pretty responsive and the turbo spools up quick. After shutting the engine down from idling the turbo spins for about 2 minutes.

Very nice build glad to hear its running.

Do you use a boost control solenoid from an Audi?

When will it be ready for action?

Yes, it is a n75 valve from an Audi. Hopefully track day next month.

Not much happened last night on the #71 beetle.

Did another cold start setup and let the engine idle for a while and did the final setup on the Dash2. Tonight quickly set valve clearances, then I'll take a quick video.

Then spend some time on the #170 beetle and do final preps for Zwartkops this weekend.

Two is better than one. Final preps for this weekend on the #170 beetle. Wheel alignment done, carbs cleaned, new tyres fitted.
